Air Reserve Technician Officer Position

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) officer position to serve as Operations Group Commander/ Senior ART and as such, manage the flight operations function on a daily basis. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the operations organization. Directs all operations and training programs for the organization. Develops goals and objectives for the organization.
• Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Directs, coordinates, and oversees work through subordinate supervisors. Advises staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives of higher level management or headquarters.
• Represents the Operations Group with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with Commanders, Managers, Supervisors, other senior officials, HQ AFRC, Air Staff, and officials from the gaining major commands.
• Manages the flying and ground training program for the group. Analyzes higher headquarters directives, accident reports and mission readiness reports.
• Flies as an aircrew member in unit aircraft, as required. May perform duties as a flight instructor or flight examiner as deemed appropriate by the Commander.

• This is a Testing Designated Position (TDP). The employee is subject to random drug testing. The incumbent is subject to pre-employment drug testing and participation in random drug testing as a condition of employment.
• This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
• The incumbent may be required to fly in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments (TDY) away from the normal duty station.
• The incumbent may be required to work overtime to meet workload demands.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Must meet and maintain appropriate physical standards for aircrew duty according to AFI 48-123, Medical Examinations and Medical Standards
